When we first looked at Hatboro Lofts, formally the Roberts & Mander Stove Factory, the building had been vacant for over 10 years. Most window openings were closed up letting very few sunlight in. Since there was no electricity flashlights were needed in most parts of the building, making it an adventure to survey. When demolition started many spaces that were unreachable before were revealed. The vast open floor plans were fully exposed when all the former window openings were finally opened up again and many strange objects emerged. Being in the building felt like being stuck in time. Witnessing the transformation into exciting, clean and livable spaces was truly amazing.
